Daren McCalla M.D’s dedication to his training and scholarly pursuits demonstrates the high level of care that his patients can always expect. After receiving his medical doctorate from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2013, he graduated from the University of Rochester in Orthopedic Surgery in 2018. And in 2019, he also completed his fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital. Additionally, during medical school, he was a fellow in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of New York and served as the chapter president of the Student National Medical Association.

Dr. McCalla’s dedication to research and providing compassionate care has continued with his membership of several prestigious organizations including the North American Spine Society, AO Spine, Houston Medical, Forum, National Medical Association, and Gladden Society of the AAOS. Dr. McCalla also presents research around the country, has been published in numerous academic journals, demonstrating that he is a leader in his field.

Dr. McCalla isn’t only dedicated to his patients but also those training to follow in his footsteps; Dr. McCalla mentors those in medical school, college, and high school from underrepresented backgrounds, providing guidance to help them become tomorrow’s leaders in the medical field.
Dr. McCalla is passionate about serving medical students, college students, and high schoolers from underrepresented backgrounds as a mentor to help guide them down the path toward success and exceptional scholarship.
